The self-supply scheme has existed since 1992 as part of the Public Electricity Service Law (LSPEE) and is still valid in the current law. This scheme allows end users to obtain energy in competitive conditions other than CFE.
An end user that participates in a self-supply company maintains a public service contract (basic service) with CFE, while at the same time participating in an electricity supply contract with the self-supply company.
We currently have 3 generation projects under this modality already in commercial operation, which guarantee our customers a reliable supply of electricity, with the possibility of it coming from clean sources.
The Qualified Supply Scheme was born with the Energy Reform, where an open electric power market was created, allowing the participation of private industry and where a vehicle for energy commercialization is required (Qualified Services Supplier, SSC), managing the energy of the end users and representing them before the CENACE.
Because of this, in CEMEX Energía we created a Qualified Service Supplier to meet the needs of both CEMEX and our other customers who are under the category of Qualified User or choose to purchase energy under this scheme.
Qualified Users are those whose consumptions require more than 1MW.
